Team partypoker’s Roberto “WelshWizard” Romanello is a Powerfest VII Champion. The Welsh Wizard is normally better known for his magical no-limit hold’em skills, but showcased his ability at seven-card stud on Day 5. Romanello made two final tables on the opening Sunday, and went even better in Thursday’s Event 16-H: $25K Gtd FL 7CS. Fifty players fancied some stud action and put up the $530 buy-in, with Romanello outlasting them all, beating I-eat-rats heads-up to claim the title and $8,750. He is the second Team partypoker player to become a Powerfest champion this series after Joao Simao. MANIMANIMANI rounded out the top three.

High Stakes Action

Elsewhere, the largest payout of Day 5 was secured by bossamtisch1, who won $40,780 after taking victory in Event 15-H: $150K Gtd NLH NL Hold’em. The $1,050 buy-in tournament had 200 entries, comfortably beating the guarantee. rdcrsnn took second for $29,600, with GuyFromTiltBook rounding out the podium, earning $21,100 for third.

Event 14-H: $100K Gtd 1R1A NLH NL Hold’em saw 126 entries put up the $530 buy-in, with 57 rebuys and 67 add-ons boosting the prizepool to a guarantee-busting $125,000. A star-studded final table included two players who’ve already won Powerfest titles, with HeavenlyFather falling in sixth for $6,562 and Drulitooo exiting in fifth for $8,125. The pair now sit first and second on the High Leaderboard, with Drulitooo currently in pole position to claim the $10,000 for the Leaderboard winner. SLARVBOGMAJS emerged victorious, earning $31,250 after beating Liftededge heads-up.

Medium Stakes, Maximum Fun

Day 5 saw three more cracking mid-stakes tournaments. In Event 15-M: $150K Gtd NLH NL Hold’em, 1,518 entrants ponied up the $109 buy-in, just enough to edge over the guarantee. u3MeHa took the lion’s share of the $151,800 prizepool, collecting $25,654 for an impressive victory. xkgdrds1 took second for $18,216.

Event 14-M: $50K Gtd 1R1A NLH NL Hold’em saw a cash for Team partypoker’s Natalia “N4talB” Breviglieri, as she earned $277 for finishing 45th. In total, 674 entrants put up the $55 buy-in, with 357 of them choosing to rebuy. Ollicz outlasted the rest of the field to take the title and the top prize of $12,993 after beating SeuMaruan heads-up.

It cost $55 to have a shot at winning the Event 16-M: $10K Gtd FL 7CS title. Just 123 entrants were brave enough to take to the stud battlefield, leading to a nice overlay as the guarantee was missed. Team partypoker’s Marcel Luske earned $400 for his seventh-placed finish, with kassigor and stePPehorse making a two-way deal when they got heads-up. kassigor eventually took the crown, earning $2,114 for the victory, with stePPehorse collecting $2,085.

Micro Madness

The biggest field of the day was in the $11 buy-in Event 15-L: $25K Gtd NLH NL Hold’em, which saw a whopping 3,088 players take to the virtual felt. Ysjah12 eventually came out on top, picking up $3,548 after making a three-way deal with NO_COMPRENDOR and Spenna8, who won $3,540 and $3,375 respectively.

SunAst emerged victorious in the other big-field No Limit event, earning $3,248 for seeing off 1,991 other entrants in the $5.50 buy-in Event 14-L: $10K Gtd 1R1A NLH NL Hold’em. The $10,000 guarantee was smashed to bits, with the total prizepool ending up at $20,300.

Rounding off the low-tier buy-in action, we saw fradoisback take home the title in the $5.50 buy-in stud Event 16-L: $5K Gtd FL 7CS, collecting $942 for his efforts.
