After almost four years, the partypoker Big Game is returning! From February 8th – 18th, at the partypoker Millions King’s Casino in Rozvadov, the Big Game will run for 36 hours straight and will be the first ever PLO edition of the series. The Big Game will kick off at 6pm on Saturday 10th February and run non-stop until 6am on Monday, 12th February.

For those who don’t know, the Big Game, is exactly how it sounds. A monumental cash game between some of the most distinguished names in poker, which runs for 36 hours uninterrupted. Amongst the cast you’ll find eight of the highest stakes players from around the globe, including the following:

  • Sam Trickett – partypoker Global Ambassador and the UK’s most successful tournament player in history.
  • Rob Yong – Owner of award-winning Dusk Till Dawn Casino in Nottingham
  • Tony Guoga – Better known as ‘Tony G’, crushed Big Game V, winning £150,000
  • Michael van Gerwen -  At 28 years old, the PDC Darts World Champion is already the second most successful player in history.
  • Viktor Blom – Legendary high stakes player Isildur, famous for his aggressive approach to the game
  • Philipp Gruissem – High stakes German professional poker player with over $11,000,000 in tournament earnings

The live stream of the game will be hosted by Marianela Pereyra, previously of high stakes cash game show Poker After Dark, with commentary from Jesse May, Simon Trumper plus more guests. There will be commentary in German from Josip Šimunić and Stefan Hachmeister, while Mikhail Semin and Leonid Logunov will provide Russian commentary. The game will be broadcasted live, in full, across the mypartypokerLIVE mobile platforms and partypokerTV.

Sounds like a pretty sweet gig, right? Do you wish that you could be taking on the likes of Sam Trickett and Viktor Blom at that Big Game table? Well, with partypoker, you CAN!

From January 25th – February 4th, cashback points earnt from playing cash games on partypoker will be turned into tickets to enter the prize draw where one lucky winner will receive a package worth over $28,000! You will receive a $20,000 buy-in to the “Big Game”, a €1,100 Millions Open seat, a MILLIONS online seat worth $5,300 and a 5-night stay in a hotel worth $900!

For more details on all the prizes up for grabs, visit the partypoker website here.

Anyway, back to the game. The vote-off feature has been brought back for Big Game VIII, which means that every three hours, viewers vote to save their favourite players in the game. The player with the least votes gets the chop, allowing for other players to join the game and keep the action fresh.

There is also the addition of the party button booster, which we’re sure you’ll all have heard of in one sense or the other before. Upon the first hand of play, the button will place one big blind on the button, and each player thereafter will do the same, until the player on the button wins the hand. This gives more incentive for players to win their button pots and creates so much more action!

Owner of King’s Casino, Leon Tsoukernik is optimistic for the success of the game, telling us: “King’s is well known for its variety of cash games but this televised Big Game will surely be the longest we’ve ever had here. We look forward to welcoming everybody to our new casino and hotel.”

partypoker Ambassador Sam Trickett said: “I’m really looking forward to the return of the Big Game. It’s always huge fun to play – even if you don’t win – and I’m looking forward to testing my PLO skills against the likes of Isildur and Tony G. The Big Game is also a great opportunity for an online qualifier to take on the best in the game and maybe even win. This is one of the most popular poker shows on TV so it’s a high-profile event and will be a very exciting part of the MILLIONS Germany schedule in Rozvadov.”

And Tony Guoga had only this to say for himself: “I am going to take everything they have – and then more!”

It’s going to be an iconic edition of the Big Game, and we look forward to bringing all of the action to you across mypartypokerLIVE.
