Team partypoker pro Joao “joaosimaobh” Simao is absolutely crushing POWERFEST VII! After taking down Event 13-M for $16,440 last Wednesday and, two days later, Event 17-H for $62,561, Simao was back at it again last night!
He fired up the $2,100 buy-in Event 32-H: $200,000 Turbo NL Hold’em and, less than five hours later, found himself $50,470 better off, having outlasted the field of 103 players to land himself another POWERFEST win. He wasn’t the only member of team partypoker to make the final table of Event 32-H, with the founder of Dusk Till Dawn, Rob “Rob_Yong_” Yong finishing in 5th place for $13,390.
Simao also cashed in the $1,050 buy-in Event 31-H: $150,000 NL Hold’em, narrowly avoiding the bubble to finish 32nd for $2,402. His consistent string of results during this year’s POWERFEST sees Simao ranked 2nd on the High Leaderboard which, were he to hold on, would see him net an additional $7,500 in cash.
probirs Gets The Lot
Russian partypoker pro Anatoly “NL_Profit” Filatov also experienced success in Event 31-H, finishing in 3rd place for $24,370. Filatov led the way for much of the late stages of the tournament, but couldn’t quite see it out for the win.
It was probirs, currently sitting atop the Medium Leaderboard, who would go on to win Event 31-H outright for $47,100. Extraordinarily, that wasn’t the only tournament he won last night! Outlasting 559 players in the $215 buy-in Event 32-M: $100,000 Turbo NL Hold’em, probirs netted himself another 1st place finish, and another $20,839 in the process.
Rounding off Tuesday’s high-tier action, we saw Lsdlise take down the $530 buy-in Event 30-H: $150,000 6-Max PKO NL Hold’em. He picked up $18,082 in prize money, which he supplemented generously with $15,796.92 in bounties, having taken out six of the 317 players that took part.
JoGa_Bonito picked up his seventh cash of the series with a win, earning himself $25,395 in the $109 buy-in Event 31-M: $150,000 NL Hold’em. He outlasted a huge field of 1,449 and, with his continued performance at POWERFEST VII, now sits in 2nd on the Medium Leaderboard, which would see him grab another $3,750.
Our other medium-tier champion was faker432, who topped a field of 1,339 runners in the $55 buy-in Event 30-M: $50,000 6-Max PKO NL Hold’em, earning himself $5,247 in prize money and $3,178.11 in bounties.
Small Stakes, Big Fields
Tuesday evening’s biggest field saw 2,742 runners hunting for glory in the $5.50 buy-in Event 30-L: $10,000 6-Max PKO NL Hold’em. After a gruelling, 11-hour grind, it was the aptly-named IFlopALot who took it down, picking up $865 in prize money and $479.05 from his nine knockouts.
The biggest low-tier score of the night went to WhoDatt. He picked up a very decent $5,111 for his success in the $22 buy-in Event 32-L: $25,000 Turbo NL Hold’em, outlasting the 1,512 entrants who helped smash the guarantee and generate a $30,240 prizepool.
Finally, in the $11 buy-in Event 31-L: $25,000 NL Hold’em, it was o_V3ryHug3buG_o who finished atop the second largest field of the evening. He outlasted 2,706 entrants and picked up $4,375 in the process; a massive return on investment for his second cash of the series.
