It took just four days for a member of team partypoker to triumph at POWERFEST VII, with Joao “joaosimaobh” Simao taking down the $215 buy-in Event 13-M: $50,000 PKO NL Hold’em. He took the first prize of $6,945, but that was only loose change compared to the $9,495.34 he scored from his whopping 19 knockouts.

Simao also final tabled the $530 buy-in Event 12-H: $50,000 6-Max PL Omaha Hi-Lo, landing an additional $3,125 for his 5th place finish. The Brazilian is currently ranked 9th on the High Leaderboard, which would see him pick up an additional $1,500.

High Stakes Action

Team partypoker also experienced a great deal of success in the $1,050 buy-in Event 11-H: $50,000 Ante-Up NL Hold’em, which saw 56 entrants crush the guarantee. Out of the seven places that were paid, sponsored pro Natalia “N4talB” Breviglieri picked up $5,040 for a 4th place finish, while president of partypokerLIVE John “John_DUthie” Duthie took 5th place for £3,920.

It was IEatBears who ended up taking down Event 11-H for $19,600, picking up the second biggest score of the day. The other high buy-in events saw Omicron_ scoop $15,640 after he outlasted Simao to finish top of the pile of 100 entrants in Event 12-H.

Rounding off the high-tier action for the evening was the $2,100 buy-in Event 13-H: $150,000 PKO NL Hold’em, where blakjak19 landed the biggest score of the day. He picked up $21,945 in prize money, plus a massive $35,062.50 in bounties, having knocked out 12 players.

Medium Well Done

Simao wasn’t the only partypoker pro to make the money in Event 13-M. Roberto “WelshWizard” Romanello made the cash, finishing 19th out of a field of 358 players which saw the $71,600 prizepool absolutely smash the guarantee. Romanello picked up $375 in prize money, knocking out five players along the way to collect an additional $493.75 in bounties.

Our other medium-tier champions from day four were test-y-luck, who took down the $109 buy-in Event 11-M: $20,000 Ante-Up NL Hold’em for $5,154, and OrrsApples, who topped a field of 460 players in the $55 buy-in Event 12-M: $20,000 6-Max PL Omaha Hi-Lo.

The Massive-Field Micros

The biggest field of the day saw 1,253 players buy in to the $5.50 buy-in Event 12-L: $5,000 6-Max PL Omaha Hi-Lo. Of the 168 players who landed in the money, it was the unusually-named user I_I_I_I_I who took down first place, for $970.

LoeZvGambler saw off a similarly-sized field in the $22 buy-in Event 13-L: $10,000 PKO NL Hold’em, picking up $2,081 in prize money, and £1,819.06 in bounties, knocking out no fewer than 33 players! He outlasted 1,226 players, which saw the guarantee smashed by over 100%, to take the lion’s share of the $24,520 prizepool and pick up the biggest low-tier score of the day.

Rounding off the low-tier action, we saw Czujo89 emerge victorious in the $11 buy-in Event 11-L: $5,000 Ante-Up NL Hold’em, collecting $1,459 for his efforts.
