Normally, the only place you'll see a million pounds on a poker table is in the movies. But there's nothing fictional about the Sam Trickett Invitational Cash Game, which will be held at Dusk Till Dawn Casino in Nottingham on Tuesday March 6th.
The game will have a buy-in of a massive £125,000, so only those with heart and commitment to the greatest of games will be involved. Blinds will be set at £100/£200, so the event is going to be an exhibition of creative deep-stacked cash game poker between some of the biggest cash game players in the United Kingdom and beyond.
Cards will go in the air at 18:00, with the game lasting a full twelve hours, finishing in the early hours of the morning at 06:00.
Best of all, you'll be able to watch every dramatic twist and turn from the game live, as every hand from start to finish will be live streamed on partypoker TV.
So, who will be taking their place under the bright lights of the TV table for the Sam Trickett Invitational Cash Game? Well, a mixture of poker champions, tournament phenoms, cash game doyens, and no-holds-barred businessmen.
The first name on the list is the man the game is named after: the mighty Sam Trickett himself. Widely regarded as one of the finest players in the world, Trickett started playing poker in 2005 after a knee injury ended his career as a professional footballer.
Football's loss was poker's gain, and Trickett has been crushing both tournaments and cash games ever since. His biggest result came in the $1M buy-in Big One for One Drop at the 2012 WSOP, finishing runner-up for $10.1M. He's 12th on the All Time Money List and has his own high-stakes haven at Dusk Till Dawn called, appropriately enough, Trickett's Room.
No high stakes cash game at Dusk Till Dawn would be complete without owner Rob Yong. The DTD head honcho is always great for any game, with his table charisma and inimitable style always creating entertaining, action-heavy games.
English pro Alex Goulder, who has over a million dollars in live tournament earnings, will also be taking a seat at the game. His biggest result came in the partypoker WPT National Main Event at the Prague Poker Festival in 2014, which he won for €105,000, but he is a fearsome cash game competitor and will be keen to show that live on partypoker TV.
Paul Byrne is a successful entrepreneur who also loves playing poker, and with more than $300,000 in live cashes is also clearly handy at the felt.
Michael Zhang is a Dusk Till Dawn regular who is fresh from winning the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Germany Super High Roller event in Rozvadov for €800,000, so he'll be full of confidence and ready to tear it up in the Sam Trickett Invitational.
Paul Newey is always at home in any high stakes game. The venture capitalist sold his business for millions a few years back, making him one of the richest men in England. But he's also very experienced on the high stakes poker scene, regularly playing in some of the biggest buy-in events in the world and famously loves to see the whites in his opponents' eyes. He'll have every chance of that at Dusk Till Dawn.
Luke Marsh is another poker pro who'll be hoping to make some big money in the Sam Trickett Invitational. The Scunthorpe pro has over half a million in live tournament cashes in an impressive career so far. Justin Seville completes the line-up in what is sure to be a fabulously entertaining spectacle.
Be sure to tune in to partypoker TV on March 6th to catch all of the spectacular action. Casino Royale has nothing on the action that will go down in history at the world-famous Dusk Till Dawn.
