The partypoker LIVE tour season 1 has come to a close in dramatic fashion as three top players won over a million euros each in the MILLIONS Grand Final Main Event. Canada’s Pascal Lefrancois took the title and €1,700,000, beating Britain’s Adam Owen heads-up, and nine huge tournaments exceeded the guaranteed prize pool of €23 million, with player winnings totalling an incredible €29.7 million.

With seven-figure prizes for the top three players in the Main Event and 1,175-entries, a strong field comfortably surpassed the initial guarantee and generated a prize pool of €11,397,500 – a fitting end to the season. partypoker chairman, Mike Sexton, agrees: “I think without question the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS tour in season 1 has justified itself as the number one poker tour in the world. Especially in terms of guaranteed prize money and attendance by players. Seven figure paydays don't come by in the poker world that often!”

Main Event Winner

Canada’s Pascal Lefrancois lifted the trophy for a career-best score of €1,700,000. Britain had both other players on the podium, with Adam Owen (€1,300,000) finishing as a worthy runner-up after a stunning performance across the week. Super High Roller modern legend Stephen Chidwick added €1,000,000 to his live winnings and further cemented his reputation as one of the greatest live poker players in the world. Lefrancois was a gracious winner and was overcome with happiness upon sealing his victory: "It has been an exhausting four days, but I’ve loved every minute. You see these events and you just don't think you can win. It’s the perfect way to head back to Canada for my home country event, MILLIONS North America, where I’ll be trying for a back-to-back win!”

€100k Super High Roller Winner

Event #6, the €100k Super High Roller, was won by American Jake Schindler who took home €1,750,000. It was Schindler’s third seven-figure score of his career who said: “It means a lot. I mean €1,750,000 is a ton of money. I don’t travel outside of the US often at all, but Barcelona is a great city.”

50k Super High Roller Winner

Canadian Sam Greenwood, delivered quite possibly the performance of the tournament, recovering from only 1.5 big blinds to win a cool €1,000,000 along with the trophy in the €50k Super High Roller - Event #5. It’s Greenwood’s biggest win of his career who said: “I came in short and thinking if I can just ladder up to fifth I’ll be happy. So to come away with the win is just amazing.”

€25k Super High Roller Winners

Event #2 of partypoker MILLIONS Barcelona was the €25K Super High Roller which was won by Andreas Eiler. Eiler toppled fellow German Rainer Kempe heads-up to win €700,000 and lift his first trophy since May 2012. The guaranteed prize pool of €2,000,000 was met as early as level 7 and eventually ended at €2,200,000 prize pool, with Eiler proving top drawer.

The second €25k Super High Roller was won by Belgium’s Davidi Kitai who received €700,000, the second biggest score of his career. He said: “It’s amazing. I always enjoy this city, Barcelona, it’s one of my favourite cities in the world, and the tournament here was really great.”

As Season 1 comes to a close partypoker LIVE President, John Duthie, is already looking ahead: “Being in Barcelona and sharing the experience with so many players really made me see that we've come a long way in Season 1 and I'm so excited about what we will be providing in Season 2. We started on the premise that we want to provide tournaments for the players, and provide value for the players, in really good venues, and we’re achieving it. Casino Barcelona and Hotel Arts were perfect hosts for our closing event and the line-up for Season 2 is only going to be bigger and better.”

After MILLIONS North America kicks off Season 2, next up is Grand Prix Germany on 26th to 30th April where the action returns to King's Casino Europe in Rozvadov. There’s €500,000 up for grabs in the €220-entry Grand Prix Main Event and the online Day 1s take place on partypoker online from 22nd – 25th April.

Then, next month, the first-ever WSOP Circuit event on Russian soil will take place from the 18th to the 27th May at the fabulous Casino Sochi. With over $4,000,000 in guarantees across the seven events, this is a festival of poker suitable for all players and bankrolls.
