We’re just a few short days away from kick off at partypokerLIVE MILLIONS Germany. For the penultimate stop of the Season 1 tour, MILLIONS is swinging by King’s Casino Europe in Rozvadov, on the Czech/German border, and bringing with it a massive €12.5 million in guaranteed prizepools!
Germany’s own Philipp Gruissem has confirmed he will be in attendance. After recently signing for partypoker, he’ll no doubt be looking to pick up his first trophy as an ambassador at MILLIONS Germany.
“I feel great about joining partypoker!” said Gruissem. “They are now bringing healthy competition back into the market and partypoker has a new and fresh vibe that will grow our poker community.”
About the Ambassador
Gruissem began playing live poker nine years ago and has since found success in many high roller and super high roller events. His biggest live tournament score was in the €25,000 High Roller at Monte Carlo 2014, where he picked up €993,963. Including his success in no fewer than 18 other high roller events, Gruissem’s total live earnings now stand at over $11 million.
Gruissem has experienced a recent run of success at Rozvadov, where he cashed in both the Main Event and the High Roller at WSOP Europe in November, as well as picking up another Czech flag for his Hendon Mob at the partypoker German Poker Championships back in August. With multiple high roller events confirmed for MILLIONS Germany, everything seems lined up for Philipp Gruissem to add to his list of five live tournament wins, the last of which came in 2014.
The Return of the partypoker Big Game
As well as hunting for more live tournament glory, Gruissem is also set to appear on the return of The Big Game, partypoker’s popular high stakes TV cash game. He’ll be joining other big names including Tony G; Viktor “isildur1” Blom; poker power couple Jennifer Tilly and Phil Laak; partypoker’s own Sam Trickett; and owner of Dusk Till Dawn Casino in Nottingham, Rob Yong.
They’re set to play the great game of Pot Limit Omaha, eight-handed, for 36 hours non-stop. The €50/€100 game will begin at 6:00pm local time on Saturday 10th, running continuously until 6:00am on the morning of Monday 12th.
The live stream will be hosted by former Poker After Dark commentator Marianela Pereyra, with commentary in three languages, depending on your location. English hosts include Jesse May, James Dempsey and Simon Trumper; German commentary comes from Josip Šimunić and Stefan Hachmeister, while the Russian channel will be hosted by Mikhail Semin and Leonid Logunov.
The whole thing will be televised, and can be viewed live on partypoker TV via the My partypoker LIVE website and smartphone app.
While the first event on the schedule, the Grand Prix, started online on the evening of Sunday February 4th, the festival kicks off properly on Thursday 8th with the first of five live Day 1’s. All online qualifiers will be joined by those who make it through from the live Day 1’s, when Day 2 of the €500,000 guaranteed event commences at midday on Saturday 10th.
After the dust settles on the Grand Prix, there will be a plethora of events running, each guaranteed at €1 million. The €1,100 Open and the €25,500 Super High Roller both start on the Saturday, with Day 1 of the €2,700 Warm Up set to get started on Monday 12th.
The €5 million guaranteed Main Event gets underway on Wednesday 14th. It comes with a €5,300 buy-in, and spans four days, with the event concluding on Sunday 18th February.
Finally, to see the festival out, there are two more events guaranteed at €1 million starting on Friday 16th: the €10,300 High Roller, and the €1,100 Finale which, with its unlimited re-entries, will ensure partypokerLIVE MILLIONS Season 1 goes out with a bang!
